Cambodia Gambling Dens

January 24th, 2019 at 10:25

There is an interesting history to the Cambodia gambling halls that reside just over the border from neighboring Thailand, where gambling hall wagering is not allowed. Eight gambling halls are based in a relatively small location in the metropolis of Poipet in Cambodia. This group of Cambodia gambling halls is in a perfect destination, a 3 to 4 hour travel from Bangkok and Macao, the two biggest wagering locations in Asia. Cambodia gambling dens do a huge business with Thai workers and guests from Malaysia, Japan, South Korea, and Singapore, with just a couple of Westerners. The amazing income gained from the gambling halls ranges from seven and a half million dollars to more than 12.5 million dollars, and there are a few limitations constraints for casino ownership. Ownership is assumed to be largely Thai; however, financing sources are ambiguous. The borders are formally open from 0900 to 5:00 p.m., and although visas are supposedly needed to pass, there are ways around this, as is real of most border crossings.

The 1st Cambodia gambling halls premiered in Phnom Penh in the mid nineties, but were required to close in 1998, leaving just a single gambling hall in the capital, the Naga Resort. The Naga, a docked barge gambling hall, features 150 slots and sixty gaming tables. The Naga river boat is open all hours with 42 tables of mini-punto banco, four tables of blackjack, ten of roulette, two of Caribbean Stud Poker, and 1 each of Pai-Gow and Tai-Sai.

The initial casino in Poipet, the Holiday Palace, premiered in the late nineties and the Golden Crown soon followed. A total of 150 slot machine games and 5 tables at the Golden Crown and 104 one armed bandits and sixty eight table games at the Holiday Palace. The newer Holiday Palace Casino and Resort features 300 one armed bandits and 70 gaming tables and the Princess Hotel and Casino, also in Poipet, has one hundred and sixty six slot machine games and 96 table games, including eighty seven baccarat (the most popular game), Fan Tan, and Pai Gow. In addition, there is the Casino Tropicana, with 135 slot machines and sixty six of the normal tables, as well as one table of Casino Stud Poker. One more of the eight gambling dens in Poipet, again a part of a motel, is the Princess Casino with one hundred and sixty six slots and ninety seven table games. The Star Vegas Casino is part of a comprehensive vacation and hotel building that highlights a number of comforts aside from the gambling hall, which has ten thousand sq.ft. of 130 slot machines and 88 gaming tables.
